Our certifications

This agricultural certification standard defines Good Agricultural Practices and therefore guarantees:

Food safety: our lemons are safe, wholesome foods, free from illegal, toxic or harmful substances;

Environmental protection: the farming techniques used protect nature and water resources;

Worker health: working conditions in the fields are safe, fair and compliant with the law;

Traceability: the company’s tracking system makes it possible to follow each lemon from the tree to the supermarket shelf;

GRASP (GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice) is a voluntary add-on to GLOBALG.A.P. that assesses social responsibility on farms, focusing on employees’ health, wellbeing and working conditions. PASAM Agrumi has held this certification for years, reflecting our commitment to exemplary employment practices. In particular:

workers elect a representative through whom they can raise concerns and issues;

we are transparent about contracts and payslips;

we strongly oppose child labor and actively combat it in every form;

we comply with occupational-safety regulations and work constantly to prevent accidents and protect our employees;

IFS (International Featured Standards) is an international certification focused on Food Defense. It verifies that all necessary measures are in place to prevent food contamination or tampering. With this certification, PASAM Agrumi guarantees that its lemons are safe foods, traceable from the tree to the consumer’s table and protected against contamination.

PASAM Agrumi is also Bio Suisse certified, supporting our sales of organic lemons in Switzerland. Bio Suisse requirements are stricter than standard organic certification and apply more rigorous rules on social responsibility and ecology. Certified farms must follow a more restrictive fertilization plan, carefully manage irrigation water and maintain a good proportion of green areas on their land. This is important because:

the soil must be managed in a way that preserves and improves fertility, with fertilization plans suited to both crops and soil;

water is a resource to be protected and must not be used excessively or unnecessarily; consumption must be constantly monitored and waste avoided;

a significant share of farmland must be devoted to hedges and green areas so wildlife can thrive. Farmers should not replace the existing landscape, but integrate their activity into it;

SPRING (Sustainable Program for Irrigation and Groundwater Use) is a GLOBALG.A.P. add-on module for sustainable water management in agriculture. It guarantees that all our water-supply wells are properly authorized, monitored annually, and supported by periodic plans to improve irrigation efficiency, reduce waste and optimize consumption.

The Quality Agricultural Work Network is a public scheme established at INPS to certify responsible agricultural businesses. It promotes legality, combats illegal labor recruitment and rewards companies that comply with employment rules, collective agreements and social-security obligations. It provides transparency by ensuring workers’ rights are respected, wages are fair, working hours comply with the law and employee contributions are paid regularly.
